Pulse Oximeters
Pulse Oximeters perform a continuous and/or spot check of the level of oxygen saturation in the blood - Sp02 - as well as measuring your patients pulse rate. They are an invaluable and inexpensive tool for instantly measuring these 2 critical parameters that can tell you if your patient is an immediate risk.
The pulse oximeter finger probe contains an infrared LED light source and a photodetector which measures arteriolar bed light absorbtion and converts this into an oxygen saturation measurement called Sp02. The pulse rate is determined on the same principle. Each of the pulse oximeters shown below uses this non invasive technology along with a bright easy to read LED display to give accurate precise readings.
